Spit-Roasted Chicken Dinner at Light Sleeper

Allons-y mes amis! We're about to get a little bit old school Frenchy just in time for fall. Who doesn't love a tender rotisserie chicken? We're building a fire in the hearth and letting our birds get really smokey and juicy as they roast on the spit for a few hours.

Basted in butter, and stuffed with fresh herbs, each person will get a half of a small roasted chicken, potatoes and onions that have been cooking in the chicken drippings, a small salad, sauce supreme, AND a tasting of three fabulous french wines curated by Ezra of Light Sleeper. Additional beverages will be available for purchase at the event. We've also included extra supplements to make your meal perfectly decadent.

Anbai Soft Opening

The latest addition to the diverse Chophouse Row food scene is Anbai, which takes a Japanese bento box approach to take-out lunches based on healthy, fermented foods. Owner Fumiyo Mukohata previously ran popups at Mimi, Saint Bread and La Dive to wide acclaim and is now delighted to have a full-time space at the Chophouse building’s 1st floor lunch counter.

Bike Lane Cleanup Party - Pike St.

  • Good Weather /Tailwind Bicycle & Café (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Hello, lovely cycling enthusiasts! The golden season of fall is upon us, and with it come the slippery leaves and hidden hazards on our bike lanes. But what if we told you there's a fantastic way to make a difference, have fun, and give back to the biking community? Let's transform our streets!

Come join the Cascade Bicycle Club for our annual Bike Lane Cleanup extravaganza! We're gathering at the cozy Good Weather / Tailwind Bicycle & Café on Capitol Hill. Expect a warm welcome with steaming coffee, fresh tea, and delectable snacks to fuel you up. 🍩☕

Why is this cleanup so crucial? This bike lane cleanup is an opportunity for Seattle voters to see the impact of what the upcoming transportation levy could have. If the levy is funded, this is the last bike lane cleanup that will need support of volunteers for the next 8 years. As volunteers, we are demonstrating the need for clear protected bike lanes. The upcoming transportation levy would provide the funding needed for the City of Seattle to increase the frequency of routine maintenance of these areas.

 Here’s the day's itinerary:

  • We'll kick off with cleaning the Pike St protected bike lane from Bellevue to Broadway.

  • And as a cherry on top, once we’ve cleared the lanes, we’ll reconvene at Good Weather / Tailwind Cafe & Bar for a well-earned happy hour! 🍻

What’s provided by Cascade:

  • Kickstart refreshments: light snacks and coffee (i.e. granola bars) 🍪☕

  • Cleanup essentials: Rakes, shovels, brooms, leaf bags, trash bags, safety vests, signs, work gloves, and bike trailers.

Your Checklist:

  • Suitable outdoor attire for potential chilly and wet weather 🧥🧤

  • Your radiant smile and enthusiastic spirit! 😊

  • A bike lock if you're cycling. Safety first!

Weather Watch: Should the skies decide to pour relentlessly, we might need to cancel. But don't worry; we'll keep you informed!

Volunteer roles: Switch roles for variety!

  • Sweeper/Cleaner volunteer: Be the heart of our cleanup squad! Clear leaves and debris with our provided tools.

  • Bagging/Support volunteer: Manage our tools and assist in transporting full trash bags. Got a cargo bike or trailer? It'll come in handy!

Gathering Point: Good Weather Bicycle & Café In the Alley, 1424 11th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122

Let's rally together and make our city shine! Be the change, pedal the difference, and let’s sweep those lanes! 🚴‍♀️🍁🎉
